The exhibition, held in London in January 2013, celebrated the world of the LOLcat and how the have permeated popular culture and communication. 50% of the proceeds went to Battersea Cat and Dog Home and over £4000 was raised, so it was LOLcats helping actual cats (and dogs too).
I jointly exhibited with the lovely Kirsty Logan, whose poem “Sestina to my Lolling Cat” I illustrated and typeset. The poem is about how her cat is more loll about the house than laugh out loud. The illustration features my gorgeous little cat Mia, who sadly passed away in last year, as she loved lolling about my desk while I worked.
The exhibition now has it’s own mini documentary and also picked up some pretty awesome coverage: Huffington Post, The Independent, Creative Review, It’s Rude to Stare, Wired, Laughing Squid,We Heart, Form Fifty Five, Taxi, Digital Arts, Design You Trust, Design Week, Wired (again), Your Cat, Time Out, Fox News, Don’t Panic, Silicone Republic, Huffington Post (again), Computer Arts,BBC and bizarrely IMDB
